You may have heard in on the news, the many benefits that red wine provides. One of those benefits is that it may help prevent Alzheimer’s Disease. Recently, Mt.Sinai Researchers have discovered that polyphenolics derived from red grape seeds may help prevent or treat Alzheimer’s Disease. Basically, the study looked into the possibility of developing “wine mimetic pills” that would replace the one glass-a-day recommendation made by experts.

“Meganatural AZ grape seed extracts significantly reduced Alzheimer’s disease – type cognitive deterioration in the Alzheimer’ disease mice through mechanisms that prevents the formation of a more complex form of a molecule known as amyloid in the brain” according to Dr. Pansinetti, one of the researchers.

Dr. Pansinetti goes on to say that amyloid is present in everyone’s brain. However, when it comes together in a more complex structure, the brain functions less efficiently, such as the effect of Alzheimer’s. The ability of Meganatural AZ compounds’ ability to stop the growth of complex amyloid structures suggests a possibility of preventing memory loss in people who have not yet developed Alzheimer’s Disease.
